Reciprocal Borrowing

Reciprocal borrowing arrangements are made between libraries, allowing their respective patrons to borrow materials directly from other libraries. Unlike with interlibrary loan where patrons request materials be sent to their home libraries, students using reciprocal borrowing privileges must travel to the other library to borrow and return materials.

Washington State Community Colleges Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement
The Library Leadership Council recognizes the value in joint collection use of community and technical college libraries of similar purpose and supports reciprocal access to each other’s circulating library materials as an alternative to interlibrary loan. The reciprocal borrowing agreement (May 2021) is designed to give students, staff and faculty convenient access to a larger number of library resources at the lowest cost to taxpayers.

UW Bothell and Bellingham Technical College @ EvCC
Students in the UW Bothell BSN and Bellingham Tech Radiologic Technology programs located at Everett Community College have borrowing privileges at the EvCC Library. Contact Lynn Deeken (ldeeken@everettcc.edu, 425-388-9502), Dean of Arts, Learning Resources, and Pathways for additional information.
