German is an official or majority language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg and is spoken as a second language throughout Europe. According to the US Census Bureau, over 1.1 million people in the United States speak German as a primary language or alongside English at home. This guide will highlight resources to help understand modern German vocabulary, grammar and culture.
