According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is, "the capability of computer systems or algorithms to imitate intelligent human behavior." Humans interact with AI in many different ways. Examples include, online shopping, searching Google, browsing social media, asking ChatGPT for homework help, using autocorrect when typing text messages, gaming, and navigating with a maps app.
While the technology used to build these apps is generally referred to as AI, there are six subfields of AI that are important components of how we use and interact with AI. These subfields are machine learning, deep learning, robotics, neural networks and natural language processing.
AI, especially generative AI, may use sources that have an active copyright, trademark, or other rights that restrict the use of the content produced by the AI tool.
